break a leg
my buddy philipp virus calls me up from berlin
i haven’t heard from him for months
so he was out the other night
walking from the kinski bar to the other side of the lost highway
when he decided to do a little breakdancing
the helicopter to be precise
and he knocks into a bicycle
and then goes out for another six hours dancing
and the next morning his leg is all blue and swollen
and then three days later his mother is crying and begging him to go to a doctor
and he goes to the hospital and gets an x-ray
and yes, you guessed it from the title of this poem
he had been dancing all night on a broken leg
