Pule Lechesa is indeed a rising star…we thank kagablog for using this article. But what about my own new C.D?

Ag, when did Lechesa become “FS most eminent writer?” Sour grapes? Ha, ha, ha.

Great to see this article here. My advice to Pule Lechesa - as usual - is to keep on being humble, keep his (large!) feet on the ground; and remember, that compared to the all-time greats of black African literature, we are just starting!

Pule Lechesa is indeed a rising star, a man who like Mr Bolaji can sacrifice a lot for literature. He is also a poet like myself. But I must also add that Lechesa must try to respect those who came before him as writers, or many would continue to “dislike” him.

As I believe I indicated before, Lechesa is indeed a young man in a hurry. The best from him is yet to come, of course

The combination between Mr Bolaji and Mr Lechesa is quite strange; Mr Bolaji, an established writer, has never been afraid of emerging, new writers. In fact he always helps and encourages them, to the chagrin of other writers.

Mr Lechesa seems to be going places. I used to see him every now and then at the main library in Bloemfontein, a polite gentleman, always with a smile. I am sure people do not “dislike” him so much.

(with a smile) Ag, considering the lady’s comments above (8), who says Lechesa is not something of a ladies’ man?

Superb professionalism by Bolaji. A detached piece - one would not know how close he is to Lechesa. The world of writing should not be one for over-emotions and the like…

humbleness,dedication and hardwork pays off-
dont loose focus..

[…] Kindly indulge me as I briefly thank others who have contributed indelibly to my being here today. My father, SL Bolaji, who instilled an abiding love for literacy and literature in me from infancy; sundry authors worldwide - too numerous to be mentioned here who shaped my work; Free State writers like Mr Pule Lechesa, Mr Flaxman Qoopane and Mr Tila who have always been good friends. Mr - Oom Johan Botha, of Drufoma Publishers, who has over the years been my main Publisher; Ms Jacomien Schimper of the Free State Provincial Library service who has always been excited about grassroots literature; Prof Margaret Raftery for her initial help and interest; Mr Aryan Kaganof and his memorable, exhilarating blogs; and I must repeat that I remain permanently indebted to Prof Engela Pretorius, Prof De Klerk and others that I do not even know about. My advice to Pule Lechesa is that keep on holding your head above the water. You are one of a thousand people I know who are talented, down to earth and going places. My brother keep well.
