The Merchant
Ruffed, rugged and dust beaten
With blistered lips.
From the wilderness
The merchant returns to the city.
Bearing bruises and scars that tell
Of his beleaguered journey.
Lost a few bets, swindled.
But behold the merchant is a lot wiser.

I like the alliteration in this poem - but of course Mr Thaisi is an experienced poet
