let’s get serious

Filed under: philosophy — ABRAXAS @ 10:18 am

either you have not to be serious and seem it,
or to be serious and not seem it.
those who combine being serious
with seeming serious
are insignificant.

    I am seriously going to shank Baudrillard with a razor blade secured to a toothbrush handle. Take him out prison style… for real. But when I actually do I’ll be serious about it. i.e. i’ll be the man’s irrelevant assassin (if he were still alive i mean)

    tis better to shank
    the lot of armchair facebook
    intellectuals..
    fondling eachother
    whilst seeming..serious

    * baudrillard’s descriptive, not prescriptive.*

    read this way, a subtly ironic, critical tone to many of these fragments is apparent… particularly the one about south africa, where he uses those offensive “primal”, “simian” goad-words.

    he is telling it like it is - describing aspects of western cultural practice
    he’s not telling you you ought to subscribe to them!
