999, we have an emergency! the hysteria is what i find incredible… on all sides of the debate. in US politics everything is blown up cartoon-important, earthshattering.

it disturbs me that children are ritually taught to pledge their lives to the stars and stripes of their great big nation-state every day, without question.

yeah, who the hell *seriously* goes looking for backmasked messages? it’s totally ridiculous, puerile. it’s hard to tell whether it is a parody of a right wing backlash, or a right wing backlash. i suspect it is the real McCoy. but regardless of that, this little stunt draws attention to the song in its original form, which is at least as creepy and mesmerising as it is when played backwards.

there are no earthly saviours among us. no one in power is worthy of worship. this is why we have GOT to learn how to laugh at politics, to prod *all* sacred cattle, if we’re to stay sane… power-mongering, war-mongering, scare-mongering, peace-brokering… it’s all manipulative bull shit. do the apocalypso and get on with living till we die.
