The trouble with
the poor, you see …
a swallow of
aubergine and pecorino pate,
a swirl of unwooded Chardonnay
in cut crystal,
Lack of vision
lack of drive,
they just don’t create enough
Opportunity…
Slow-cooked honey encrusted
pork loin gleams atop
inherited silver,
red liquid flows now, ruby Cabernet,
a hearty toast to
the best of the Cape…
They must stop this
Dependency
not enough initiative,
short of enterprise,
Do they want to forever live
off hand–outs and charity?
I succumb to the lure of the
lavender-infused crème brulee,
breathe in its soft sweet scent,
breathe out
Regret.
