This new film from Aryan Kaganof is an aesthetic and political allegory with topical undertones. The film opens with reworked images from the old film “Femme de Siècle”, reminding us of the theme of castration. In this new version, the dreamlike, poetic castration takes on new connotations that we’ll get back to at the end of the article. A girl recites silent lines in front of a moist screen as a man in a helmet near her supervises a programme of computer-generated visual effects. He is the key character, embodying masked power.
The teenage girl’s prayer is an enigmatic metaphor that’s impossible to achieve today and this is why her companion doesn’t react. There is a parallel here with Kaganof’s masterpiece “Dead Man 2” as both films are allegories that are difficult to interpret and inspired by manmade disasters or acts of God. For the earlier film “Dead Man 2”, Kaganof drew his inspiration from the sect leader David Koresh and his torture by fire. The poem “Moist Revenge” we hear during the second sequence is “Unga Dada”’s counter argument and is not unrelated to the Indonesian tsunami of 2004. Two rich, Zionist countries (the USA and the Netherlands, instead of Indonesia with its Dutch colony) are hit by divine vengeance. The teenager in “Unga Dada” makes us think of Prince Willem (despite the difference in their age and gender) and his prayer just after the tsunami.
To paraphrase the film’s surrealist logo for kagablog readers, “Unga Dada is the drone that smokes Obama”. It cannot, then, please the children (here, the teenager) who go hand in hand with the masked Zionist leaders. And the dreamlike castration at the start is the nightmare of general, worldwide impotence in the face of today’s superpowers.

Ce nouveau film de Aryan Kaganof est une allégorie esthétique et politique aux connotations récentes. Les images retravaillées du film ancien « Femme de siècle » ouvrent le film pour nous rappeler le thème d’une castration. Dans cette nouvelle version cette castration onirique-poétique prend de sous-entendus nouveaux que nous allons évoquer à la fin de l’article. Une jeune fille récite de vers silencieux devant un écran humide tandis qu’ un homme portant un casque près d’elle dirige un programme d’effets visuels de synthèse. C’est lui le personnage-clé et il incarne le pouvoir masqué.
La prière de l’adolescente serait une métaphore énigmatique impossible à réaliser aujourd’hui et c’est pour ça que son compagnon ne réagit pas. Nous voulons faire le parallèle avec le chef d’œuvre de Kaganof « Dead Man2 » puisque les deux films sont deux allégories difficiles à interpréter qui s‘inspirent des catastrophes provoqués par l‘homme ou par Dieu. Sur le plus ancien « Dead Man 2 » Kaganof s’inspire de la secte de David Koresh et de son supplice avec le feu. Le poème « Moist Revenge » (Vengeance Humide) qu’on écoute pendant cette deuxième séquence est le contre-argument de « Unga Dada » et il n’est pas sans rapport avec le tsunami indonésien de 2004. Deux pays riches et sionistes (les Usa et les Pays Bas, au lieu d‘Indonésie qui était avant une colonie hollandaise) sont frappés par une vengeance divine. L’adolescente du film « Unga Dada » nous fait penser à la Princesse Maxima (malgré leur différence d’âge) et à sa prière juste après le tsunami.
Nous allons paraphraser le logo surréaliste du film pour les lecteurs du Kagablog : « Unga dada est l’abeille que fume Obama ». Ce serait un genre d’abeille mortelle qui pique fort donc impossible à plaire aux enfants (l’adolescente ici) qui vont de pair avec les dirigeants sionistes masqués. Et la castration onirique du début serait le cauchemar de l’impuissance généralisée mondiale à coté des ordres de grandes puissances d’aujourd’hui.
