I think one of the worst stigmas of computer music is the lap-top with the solitary lap-top operator just occasionaly moving a mouse.

the south african premiere of “unyazi of the bushveld” was held on friday 23 march in the school of digital arts at wits university. in the audience were liesl jobson, neill solomon, stefanus rademeyer, johan thom, anton krueger and many other prominent south african artists and musicians. the following response to the documentary was received:
“Dear Mr Kaganof
Thank you for another beautifully composed film. In the duration of only one concert, you managed to encapsulate the essence of so many concerts and all the conversations in between. An important document of a historic occasion. The ending was such a poetic moment: a touch of genius to contrast the simple technology of traditional music on the streets of melville with the expensive technology of the festival and not always the most interesting music.
I have proposed screenings at NewMusicSA’s next festivals – New Music Indaba in Tshwane in October this year – and have suggested to James Webb the popssibility of showing it at Unyazi 2 in Cape Town next March.
Regards
Dr. Michael Blake”
